Hi,
I originally purchased 2 seperate batteries so that my 1979 70HP Mercury outboard would be isolated on one with my trolling motor / trim and all accessories hooked up to the second battery.
I've run into a problem where I'm wearing down my deep cycle battery pretty quickly running pretty much everything off of it and would like to combine both batteries together so that the outboard motor charges not only the first battery it's connected to but also the second.
I was told to hook a proper battery guage wire from pos to pos and neg to neg. Is this the best way to do it?
I wouldn't want to burn any of the charging components on my outboard "rectifier/stator" by making it work too hard charging both batteries however would really appreciate the batteries being charged simultaneously when I am using the outboard motor?
Thx as always....
