how to lubricate coupling 4.3 penta i/o ?

have a 2004 penta 4.3 sx. I see a grease fitting for the gimbal bearing but how do i grease the u joint and shaft splines (coupling) thanks don

i have a clymer shop manual which cover many detail, do you know of any ez to follow instruction for just the removal, grease and reinstall the drive? thanks again

Get an OEM manual. Don't bother with the Clymer.

It's actually very easy and if you search on the forum, people have outlined the steps. I will search now and edit this post with a link if I find one.

i see removing the drive has been coverd here before so that cancels my last post. but next question is there a best place to buy the oem volvo manuel?

Used to be able to get the from marine engine dot com. I would call them and ask. I got mine there.

One thing you don't want to do is to follow the lifting by the "eye" instructions. I made myself a wood stand for the drive and later welded myself up a metal one.

Wooden out drive dolly is easy to make. Also the removal and refitting of the drive is pretty easy as long as you have your boat angled correctly on the trailer jack. You should also check the engine alignment whilst you have the drive off Alignment bars are available on ebay for a few $
