How to make secondaries open faster mercruiser 260

mercruiser 260 350 with a quadrajet. Boat boggs while flooring it and between 3300 rpms and 3800. I noticed when secondaries are opening there moving but when they reach wide open the boat takes off... Any ideas?

you can not make them open faster. the butterflies are mechanical and the venture plates are engine vacuum.
your timing may off or not advancing correctly, and/or a rich condition.
If you dont know your stuff about a qjet, dont play with it. they are a great carb but you can mess them up quickly. If you have a thick wallet you can replace it with a Holley or get your rebuilt by some one that knows how to do them and what to look for in them.

When was the last time the engine was tuned?

Tuned before its splash. new plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and filters. The boat runs great but when i nail it she boggs and when I'm at 3100 rpms Ill floor it the motor will bog through 3800 then come alive again. I bumped the timing up to 12, no pining more accel but still bogs.
