how to manually raise outboard motor

2002 Mercury Optimax 135hp.<br />Motor stuck in the down position, hydraulic/electric lift destroyed. Unable to lift, is there a trick to it? Is there a pin to release etc. Any advise greatly appreciated as need to put on trailer but must get motor up first. Viagra won't work!<br />Thanks,

Is it in reverse? That would lock it and prevent it being raised.<br /><br />Even a fairly small adult should be able to slowly raise the engine by lifting the leg.<br /><br />Good luck.

my old 87 merchas a larg screw on the side that needs to be loosened a few turns to bypass the hydralics Good Luck Robby

ON MY FRIENDS MERC. 115 ON THE HYD. CYL. THERE IS I BELIVE A RED SREW THAT YOU HAVE TO LOOSEN. THEN YOU JUST SLOWLY LIFT IT UP.
