how to mark stringer location

before tearing out the old stringers i am supposed to mark there location some how ,,,,,,some how that when i grind the area clean around the stringers dosent go away ,,,,how do i mark the location of the stringers...

A marks alot on the transom and measure the front from a mark on the keel

Does your boat have lifting strakes? If so the stringers fit there.
