How to measure shaft for new Water Pump?

I am purchasing a new water pump - trying to fix the water leaking from my exhaust housing (see this thread: http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=199410)


However, on one site I have looked at, there is one for a 20" shaft and another for a 25" & 30" shaft.

How do I measure the shaft length?

You Measure From The Top Of The Transom (where The Engine Rests) To The Cavitation Plate.
