I have a pontoon that has a 60 hp mariner engine mounted on it. It has excessive splashing and it was suggested to me on this forum the engine may be mounted too deep. A dealer told me to line up the second fin on the engine counting from the bottom with the bottom of the transom. Problem is my engine has 3 "fins".......large one on bottom, then two smaller ones above it. If lined up with second "fin", it seems to be running pretty shallow, but splashing improved.....if I measure amount of water on top of lower, larger fin it is only about 4 inches.....with no one on boat. I compared my engine with a couple of other pontoons and the same measurement on them was between 6 and 7 inches. Thanks for any help offered!
