How to mount front pedestal seat???

I have a 13' aluminum boat that I just put a 1/2" plywood floor in and I lag bolted the front pedestal seat to the floor and I used it the first time and while sitting in it the bolat come right out. What is some good ways to mount the front pedestal seats? Thanks for all your help!

stainless screws are what I used, the pedestals had 8 places for screws, if you have less they will pull out. you can also get recessed pedestals that will be stable. cheap 4 bolt ones will not take the beating of rough water

Did you use a deck base plate. Also if you can get the floor back up you could use a piece of metal under the floor and sand witch the floor between the deck base and the piece of metal.

Through bolting would be best if you can get to the underside of the deck, use large washers on the bottom side and lock nuts or lock-tite'ed nuts. I'd back it with a piece of plywood or a 12" x 12" sheet of heavy aluminum to help spread the load.

My aluminum boat came from the factory with 1/2" plywood decks, seat mounts backed with heavy aluminum plates, 8-#14 SS wood screws hold the seat bases to the deck.
