All my dash switches are flashing and not working, how can I open my engine hatch which is powered from the dash?? There is no access hatch to pull the pin, etc.

Sounds like a really dumb arrangement to me.

What boat are you talking about?

I assume the switch has an up and down rocker to raise/lower the hatch... If you can't resolve the flashing switch problem disconnect the UP wire from the switch and apply 12 volts to it, it should raise your hatch and allow you to get into the engine bay....

Sounds like there's some sort of issue going on there you might try un-plugging the switches one at the time to figure out which circuit actually is causing the problem.

Re: How to open engine hatch?

It's a 2006 Challenger Offshore bowrider and apparently there are Sea Rays, Crownlines, etc that have the same issue in regards to getting into the hatch after talking to some local dealers.

The switches are 6 pin, like data cable that go into a bus panel. The engineer at Cole Hersee(who makes all the panels) told me it's probably a cable issue. I ordered and tried the short cable between the bus and accessory panel and that didn't work. He said it's gotta be the long cable to the panel in the engine bay, which I can't get into. Very frustrating!!

Re: How to open engine hatch?

I have a powered engine hatch and it is set up so that even if I lose power all I have to do is manually lift the hatch. The hatch actuator automatically disconnects. This isn't something special I did; it's how it came from the factory. They decided to do something that makes sense for once. lol
