How does one pick replacement seats that the fabric will last many years vs something that will only last a couple years?

Typically it's all about how you care for the seats. If the boat is kept covered when not in use, and the seats are kept clean and wiped regularly with a good vinyl conditioning product, most any of them should last for multiple seasons. If, on the other hand, the boat is left uncovered and exposed to the elements, then none of them will last very long! That's my story and I'm stickin to it!!!:D

Even though my current seats are all ripped from being 26 years old, I still keep it covered when I am not using it. New seats will be on pedestals so I guess that makes it easier to replace down the road.

If they sit in the sun they are done. Plus that on the carpet.

I purchased it used. I personally have never wiped them with any type of conditioner. But I have always kept the boat covered unless I am using it. And I use it a lot. I will look into conditioner after I get done with the rebuild.
