Hi, any suggestions on the best prop to get a Crownline 216ls to plane faster.
1. 2005 Crownline 216ls
2. 22' 4" (including 2' swim platform) Beam 8.5', dry weight 3800lbs
2.a Do not know
3. 5 adults (800lbs total weight) 1-2 children (150lbs-total weight) 35 gal of gas.
4. towing tubes, 1 person single skiing, crusing approx 30 mph
5. Yes- 21 degree deadrise
6. 2005 Volvo Penta GXI GM 305
7. 270 hp GXI SX-M 1.60
8. 4600-5000
9. NA
10. No
11. No
12. VP 14.5 X 19" three blade aluminum prop (Factory as far as I know)
13. WOT-4900-5100 depending on chop/wind, GPS50 mph (51mph by speedo), 2 adults 2 children in boat and 35 gal of gas.
14. 1800' of elevation (best guess)
15. NA-fuel injected -boat has only 34 hours on motor
16. Original prop for me (2nd owner/bought this year)
17. Slight skuff of paint/ 2 minor chips of paint down to metal (1/4" size
18. I do not need nor wish to go above 40-45 mph and would like to plane as fast as possible. My research seems to indicate a 4 blade prop would better meet my needs. I would like to stick with an aluminum prop due to occasional tree/wood debris in the water where I boat. I was looking at the Solas 14.25 X19" or 17" prop. Any other suggestions?
Hey, thank you for any response or help you may give. I have learned a lot from this forum.
