I have a 2005 alpa one gen ll. one trim cylinder has a very small oil leak at the rod oring. so ive removed the round cap with a spaner tool. Im trying to pull the piston & rod assemble out but it feels spring loaded or maybe it need air behind the piston? How do i get air behind the piston? once i replace the orings and reassemble the cylinder do i need to bleed the air out? and if so how? is there a rebuild instructions on the web?

Is the cylinder still on the boat? If so, disconnect the lines.

Yes, but you only need to run the drive up and down a few times to bleed it. Make sure the trim reservoir stays full.
