How to remove a Flywheel?

I have a 1985 Evinrude 150 HP. I believe i have to replace the Stator so i have to remove the Flywheel. Can anyone tell me how to do it without the Flywheel Puller tool or where to get one for my Flywheel?

Ummm...don't. You'll just be sorry. Cheaper to rent or buy a puller than it is to buy a new flywheel.

Depending on your flywheel. I purchased a puller from autozone. If you don't have the holes in your flywheel for the standoffs you may have to get a puller with the arms.

Check out the free loaner tool program at Pep Boys. I borrowed a Harmonic Balancer puller from them a while ago.

I had to buy a set of bolts because none of the ones that came with the kit were the right size, but I did manage to pop the flywheel off without breaking anything.

Don't ever use a puller with the "arms". Find the correct one to use the holes in the center of the flywheel.
