I have searched this site, but can't seem to find any good instructions for replacing my kill switch on my Johnson 30. Tthe kill switch is located on the tiller handle/arm.

It looks like I need to replace it, so if someone could send me the part number to purchase or a link to the part to purchase i would very much appreciate it.

First check the black-yellow stripped wire on the right side of the motor. That is the kill switch wire and it has a rubber connector with two wire clips on them. Remove the clips and pull apart the connector, then test the kill switch wire. I suspect like mine, the wires get loose in the connector and the motor won't turn off.

There is a link if you need it. http://www.boats.net/parts/search/BRP/JOHNSON/1989/J30TELCED 1989/STEERING HANDLE/parts.html

This is how to take the tiller apart.

To disassemble grip push the two black plastic buttons simultaneously, they are opposite each other toward the motor on the grip. Start to slide the grip away from the motor. Twist the idle adjustment into the grip until the grip slides all the way off. The rest is purdy much self explanatory.
