1979 was an oddball year for the Evinrude - it was the only year the motors were fitted with a tiny impeller.

What are the correct part #'s for a larger housing and impeller kit that will fit the '79? I have heard of people doing it and want to convert mine.

Thanks!

I wonder why in the world you would want to do that? The newer one is better. Oh well if you insist, be aware that if you order the old pump kit 382797 you will get the new one. If you order the old 303442 aluminum pump housing alone, it is $64.

What part number do you suggest I order?

It might help you to look at shop2.evinrude.com. You can look at parts diagrams for the various year models before or after yours and get the part numbers from them.
