Well I'm down do the end and I've gotten everything else donw that needs to be. I was sitting here thinking about the timing on the engine and getting it set right. I was goign to get a timing light rented at the auto store on the way home and didn't know for sure if this would work. I know with most cars they have a number that shows or something when the timing gets right. Unfortunatly I didn't get my book and bring with me to work and was wondering if you all can tell me if a timing light for autos will work and what kind of signal should I see when it is right. Also I've noticed that their is an advancment for starting and there is a screw with a rubber end on one side for the stop and a plate on the other end. I've been looking through my book and cant find a way to adjust and hoping to get some pointers on this since this is a newly rebuilt engine and all the settings are off.

you can use joe reeves method posted on these forums be aware that any
timeing changes you make if they arent correct ,they can cause pretty serious damage ,other than joes method the only way to set timeing is in a
test tank or on the water at wot for your motor thats dangerous to say the least its hard to get one right in a barrell but it can be done
good luck

Thanks. I'm afriad of that and I marked everything from the old engine and tried to line up everything as close as possible. Hoping not to ruin engine number 2
