Re: how to set timing on my outboard
I have done it this way and boat has been running great. The only thing I was confused on was..."set that timer base under the flywheel tight against the rubber stop on the end of the full spark timer advance stop screw (wire it against that stop if necessary). ". If you wire the timer base against the stop do you undo the wire to make the adjustment after testing, then wire it back to test again? Is this done to ensure your testing it at true WOT timing?
I mean if it is wired against the stop you can adjust it, right? Again, a little confused.
