This is the second year I have had this outboard. It is a Johnson 4 hp 2 cyl.seahorse. Part# 4w79d.
I dont take it off the back of my boat, I just cover it with a large trash bag. Last year when I did this, everything was fine. I used it all year long with no problems. Since this is a very basic motor, Is the maint. not so important? What should I be doing in the few cold months?
Thanks,
Suzuki40

Hi Suzuki...

Treat the little ones just like the big ones.

Lay-up....decarb and then fog the engine. Make sure you have gas stabilizer in the fuel system.

Change out lower unit lube. Make sure no water in lower unit.

You can do any PM or fixin' at this time to.
