I am looking though manual 28 and don't see any way to measure if the bearing is fully seated. I have a rumble in the back caused by u joints and they are new and so is the gimbal so I am going down the checklist in the manual.

In the alpha drive manual it says how far back it should go. Is this the same fro bravo?

If the drive is all the way on, the bearing is all the way in. The prop shaft does not turn inside the bearing. Well, it's not supposed to anyway.

What else would cause this rumble? I have been going through the manual....

Ujoints are new twice....

1. Gimbal Rough
It is new and smooth
2. Alignment off
dead true and the bar slides in and out with a finger
3. worn splines
outdrive has 25 ours and there is a brand new coupler
4. Loose or not seated gimbal bearing?
this is my Q?
5. Failed engine mounts?
alignment is true and they are the same as they were before coupler change with no rumble
6.Transom thickness or transon mounted incorrectly?
Also no change between now and then?

What type of rumble? Overtrimming kind? The "Red Dot", does your gimbal brg have a red dot, that faces out. As long as the install put the pressure on outer race, it stops with a solid "thud"! Did you put the heavy duty coupler in it? Those splines are steel.

Again, what kind of a rumble? And when? In the water, out? Is it a BI, II or III?

BI no rumble when out of water only underload. Rumble very noticeable between 2800 and 3600. And helicopter sound when turning

25hrs & a new coupler. Same drive shaft. with new u-joints? Which ones? Permalube or servicable? You really can't judge anything out of the water!

the coupler was new because the old drive and engine were rusted together. The outdrive has 25 ours on it because I bought it new. I am going to look at the u joints so very frustrated
