how to tell if i have a water pump or not

i have this 1986 20.5 foot open bow bayliner the guy i got it from said it did not have the little water pump in the lower unit but that it had a sea bridge pump how can you tell or where would it be he ran water straight to the hose from inside the motor compartment no muffs thanks for any help with this treeman sorry i put this in the wrong place .





you cant take it with you so spend it wife just dont get it lol

i am assuming it is a mercruiser, since it is a bayliner. which engine. moving to mercruiser.

Only because I remember your Previous Post that you have a 350 Chevy with a Volvo Penta 280 outdrive. Volvo has NEVER had a raw water pump in an outdrive. You have an engine driven raw water pump, not to be confused with the engine circulation pump (aka water pump in car lingo) depending on your full model number, it could be belt driven or a pump mounted on the vibration dampner.
I would strongly suggest you get the full model number off your engine and get the OEM service manuals. At least download an owners manual from the link below.
