I recently purchased a 1989 Century project boat and I am interested in learning how to determine if the transom and stringers need replaced. The boat is an inboard so there is really no motor weight hanging on the transom like an IO or outboard would have. I also don't visibly see any distortion from the outside of the boat but I am sure that there are more reliable ways to determine if work is needed. I have been really impressed with all of the knowledgeable people posting on this forum and have followed a lot of the stringer and transom replacements start to finish. While I hope that my boat does not need either, I feel that I will have a lot of how to help if I do have to go there.
