how to tell what size???

is there any way to measure a prop the one on my boat says 27Shooter how can I tell if this is actually the size or has it been reworked or repaired and changed????

The Pitch should be either Stamped somewhere along the Barrel/ Body of the prop,.......
Or,......
Many times there's a Size or Part # on the Hub, right behind the prop Nut........

You can measure the diameter, but unless you have access to a pitch block you can't tell what the pitch is unless as Bond-o says, it's stamped on the prop. Look for numbers such as: 13-1/4 x 21 (13-1/4 inches in diameter, and 21 pitch).

Rebuilt props have other numbers stamped on the hub, usually 4 digits, at least around here.
