How to test emergency kill switch?

How do these things operate? With an ohms meter I get a full scale with the clip off but nothing with it on. Is it good? Thanks.

Yes, it's good.

Lanyard clip ON = Switch is open, ignition IS NOT shorted.

Lanyard clip OFF = Switch is closed, ignition IS shorted.
