How to wire a kill switch on a 2 stroke Manual start?

I bought a kill switch that has two wires (magneto type red cap- shown below). My outboard has a built in kill switch with 2 wires (shown below). Do I just splice each wire from the switch to each wire from the original kill switch? (I don't care if the original switch works or not).

I would disconnect the original as down the road it could give you trouble and if your not using it, eliminate it. The two wires that go to it should be connected to your new switch and your away. Best of luck. Rick.
