Hi All,

I have an outboard and have wired up a start button and choke to the dash but appear to be having problems keeping the engine running after starting?

perhaps i've wired it up wrong?

what would you suggest as the most basic way to wire up a start button, a choke button and a run/off button?

thanks in advance.

cheers

It might help a little if we knew what you were working on! If the engine starts and the choke works you obviously have that part right. Once an outboard (most of them anyway) is running, it does not need a battery or associated wiring to stay running. The ignition system is a magneto. I suspect you have carburetor issues. They would need to be totally disassembled, thoroughly cleaned (as in every passage and jet made squeaky clean) and then assembled with new kits.
