Water pump housing bolt snapped while removing. I'm leaning towards using left hand drill bits starting small and working up also drilling through the full length of the bolt hoping it comes out somewhere in the process. Look forward to your thoughts.

That's a good way to start. Could use an easy-out screw extractor once you get a hole. Sometimes a little heat will help.

I would use an easy out, start off by soaking it with PB and let it sit and if it's still too tight maybe try some heat but be careful doing that and keep the heat source moving always.

I would dot punch the center then use a dremil with a small drill bit to make the first hole in the bolt that way you can see the center and the high speed bit will drill the snapped bolt easy. Then I would soak in penetrating fluid and try a left handed bit. Easy out would be the last step (square wedge one not the cheap black spiral)
