I am looking to buy an aluminum "row-boat" kind of thing. Maybe one that can hold a 15 H.P. engine. I see many on Craigslist that would work. However, they don't have steering consoles. I have done research on-line and have found consoles that I think you somehow bolt onto the floor. Usually, they are for inflatables. How would I bolt something to the floor and not make a hole thru the hull???

each boat would be different, but you can probably build a frame that is bolted through some of the ribs or cross members and the bolt the console to the frame. Going through the hull is not a good option. Each boat and each console would be a custom application.

Re: How???

you can use remote control for the motor on the starboard side, and ezyglide stick steering on the port. this was my 3rd boat with this set up. and i loved it. iboats, has the mount bracket in the store for $20-30.

Look at the 2nd pic and you will see a leaver that as you move it back and forth it moves the motor left and right.

you mount your engine controls on the starboard side, and the steering on the right. you move the lever forward and back to steer the boat. it has a teleflex, cable set up. the steering helm is just the difference, stick instead of a wheel. the blue circle is the steering the green is the motor controls.
