I just got a 95 Mercury 150 Black Max XR6 with a 96 Skeeter ZX180 hanging off the front of it. (It sticks out a good 18 feet or so...)

No questions yet but feel free to reply with advise and or tips as this is my first Mercury outboard and I would like to keep it runnin good.

Oh, I have question all right but I have been and will keep searching for answers in the older posts first.

Thanks! Yep that is my main concern right now is making sure I don't neglect it or do something stupid.

I am looking for some sort of a basic maintenance schedual for the Mercury 150 and does the Black Max part make any difference?

Re: Howdy from Texas! Just saying hello and introducing myself.

depends i would change the impeller and lower unit oil if you don't know how longs its been, i change my impeller every 3 years and l/u oil 2 times in 1 seaon(i use my boat 10 months out of the year) spark plugs every year and i replaced all the wiring due to age and rot. I alaways keep a spare prop in the boat(i lost one in a lake and barley made it back on trolling motor)and by your name does your l/u have mily oil in it?

Thanks for the tips! I bet that really sucked loosing a prop like that!

As for my user name, I was just picking something silly sounding. LOL

Welcome aboard LLU, this place has tons of good info.:)

Nice rig, she looks plenty fast. I have always liked Skeeters, nicest bass boats out there in my opinion:D

How fast have you gone with her?
