Howscome?

I can click on the iboats.com icon on my desktop and go directly to dockside chat and be logged in as Chief 101, but as soon as I switch to another forum title in iboats.com I am no longer signed in. Further more I am not able to sign in nor post. I can live without the iboats.com forums, but can you live without me? JK. If the mods move this I am not able to post outside of "dc", so I will not be able to further contribute. Some expert help will be appreciated. Chief Chief .)

Do you not know your login and password? Is that why you can't loginon any other page?

Chief, try going to iboats.com then clicking on Forums Home. Log in there and see what happens. If that works out, then save it to your favorites, or create a new icon.

I've been having fits of late trying to sign-in and stay in. I got so agrivated with the whole thing, I activated "IP recognition", in spite of all the warnings...Ask me tomorrow if it was a wise decision.

People, the url to iboats was changed the other day.
Make sure your bookmarks are updated to show:
http://forums.iboats.com
If not you will have to log in on ever page you visit.

Finally, I had to c&p my username. It wouldn't work when I simply typed it in. I will try saving the new page and cross my fingers. Thanks .)

I have the Force/Chrysler forum as my bookmarked page.
Here is the url:

I click and go there, and I am logged in as roscoe.

I then select any of the other forums, and I am still logged in, but they have the new forums.iboats.com url.

Why does this work for me, but not others?

Ok.. Chief, the "IP Recognition" feature doesn't help. Apparently, I have a different IP address each time i log on, or it gets changed because i am on a network puter with Carol on the same modem. I dunno. But it didn't fix it.
If I keep trying, it seems to eventually get tired of claiming i entered wrong info, and lets me in again.



SBN, niether did bookmarking the new iboats.comURL... Yesterday, I got in using my old "12Feetz" reg from that time the board crashed. It werked, but --- i was back to petty officer
any fixes or sugestions ?

Why does this work for me, but not others?because your an fleet admiralddits the same for me,been working fine,just every now and then it loged me out automaticaly.

log in and bookmark / add to favorites / make shortcut what ever
then go to "My user area"
then "Edit profile" set "session period" to "3 days"
this worked for me as long as I get on the board before the 3 days is up I have stayed logged in since.

Thanks, Rwise. I'll try that 3day trick.
I think most of the problems are on my end with this networked DSL -- double-firewalled, forgot-it's-own-name puter of mine.

Nope..I can log off, or just go to another sight , come back, only to find I need to log in again. This would not be much of a problem, but it sometimes takes entering my info 10 times before it finallly recognises me again.

[colour=blue]and don't have your browser set for cookie deletion upon exit - or add the iboats cookie to the ignore list.
