Hi, Im new to the group and can use some help. I recently inherited an old Sew Nymph aluminum row boat from a relative. I have no documentation on the boat yet, title etc and I cant seem to locate an identification plate on the boat, at least its not on the transom--is it located somewhere else? The boat is probably from the late 50s -- early 60s. It came with an old 18 hp Johnson that I believe to be a 1962 model and probably is not worth repairing. The boat is 14 ' long and the beam is about 65". Would this boat take a 25 HP motor? or what would be the max hp rating. Is there any way to Identify this model. It is currently in storage and loaded with "stuff" but as soon as I clean it up, I could post pics if that would help?

Thanks for any help.

Re: HP rating

yes it can. Providing the transom is no damaged and the wood rotted out.

We put a 72 25hp johny on a boat about the same vintage and size. I does scoot right a long I might add:)
