HP Rating

I've got a 1985 Yamaha 115HP motor, is the HP rating at the flywheel or the prop. If it is at the prop what would iy be equal to for a flywheel rated motor.

Also this motor is oil injected, Yamaha oil is just about impossible to find around here. On my other motors I use Amsoil oil in everything - can I use it in this engine?

The difference between prop and crank rating is about 10+%, but manufacturers have a 10% fudge factor on the rating. Most 115 crank rated motors dropped to 90 hp when crank rated.

The oil part, any TCW3 oil will work, and so will some others, the others are used based on your confidence in them working.
