I have a 1977 55 hp Evinrude 2 cyl that I think is a good combination of power, weight and simplicity when compared to 3 or 4 cyls of the same HP. The displacement is 737cc or app 45 CI. With that said I think that is about the biggest twin I would want. Any thing larger { 65hp to say 90 } should probably be a triple or possibly a 4. I recently saw a 70 hp Tohatsu that is a twin and it would seem to me that this would be a throbby shaker of an engine.

Anybody have an experience with this motor or other large twins? My calculations have this thing displacing about 1000cc / 61 CI. 500 cc per hole is definitely a thumper.
