I am having a hard time with this so bear with me. I am looking at new props. when I look on I boats I get a selection for about 3 years worth. It is for a 1977 55 hp evinrude model 55773 My first evinrude My problem is I get a Hub of 15a, 111, 12. and some with no choice. I have a manual now. And can not seem to get this info out of it or the fourm search function. I understand that it has to do with the fit of the barrel to the motor and has something to do with the exaust.. well at least I think thats what it means. How do I know what is right? Is this info on the prop somewhere? Also when I go to evinrude parts It says I can buy the hub seperately. but manual does not show it that way? I will have this apart this weekend and will get to see more. but Prop is slightly wobbley on boat now and a bit chewed. would like a new one.. will have old one rebuilt. And if the hub is replaceable can't hurt to have spare. Sorry for the long post.

The original prop for your engine did not have a separate hub kit. The splined part of the prop was part of the prop itself and a rubber bushing was squeezed between the hub and the barrel of the prop so the prop was a "one-piece" unit. The props you are looking at have separate hub kits and because they come from three different manufactures, have three different numbers but any of them fit your engine. They have nothing to do with exhaust flow. Separate hubs are listed so that the same basic prop (the blade part of the prop) can be used on any engine. You simply use the hub kit to adapt the prop to your engine. You can buy any of the props on the iBoats page for your engine and use the specified hub kit and it will work fine. If you damage the prop in the future, you need only buy the blade part of the prop -- you don't need another hub kit. Less expensive that way.
