Hub Size Confusion--14x19 vs 14.25x19

'97 Maxum with Alpha 1 outdrive and 4.3 engine.

I bought a Turning Point Express prop based on the markings on the Michigan Wheel prop that I destroyed. The Michigan Wheel prop was marked 14x23, and I went down in size to a 14x21 for better hole shot. The prop I got is 4" in diameter at the interface with the outdrive. The outer edge of the hub rides in the middle of the exhaust flow and just looks wrong.

Is the difference between 14x19 and 14.25x19 a difference in hub diameter? Are all props marked 14.25 4 3/8 at the interface with the outdrive? I want to make sure I get the right part when I exchange this one, which clearly doesn't work well with my boat.

The diameter/pitch don't tell you if the hub diameter is correct.

The TP prop listed for a Mercruiser Alpha 1 is 2150 2111; hub 501. Is that the one you received?

All Mercruiser Alpha/Bravo 1 hubs are 4-3/4" diameter HUBS; that is not the prop blade diameter.

Thanks. I have a 3142-1910 which is for 4 1/4" gearcases. Now I know what to order. I'm using a stainless prop and the one you gave is aluminum. Is the 3150 1910 the prop I should order?

The SS TP 14.25 X 21 is # 3150 2110; hub 501 listed for the Mercruiser Alpha 1.

Order that one if you want a 19 pitch.
