What kind of hub do most aftermarket props come with? I'm talking about Turbo, Michigan Wheel etc. Are solid hubs pretty much what you get when you order a prop?
Thanks

Re: hubs?

Solid hub is when the splines are machined into the casting. We have rubber, press-in type, and the flo-torq, plastice type-consumer replacable.
Most common is the rubber, press-fit hub.

Re: hubs?

I ask because when I got my prop back from the prop shop, via the service guy who did the work on the lower unit, he made a comment that I should think about a flo-torq hub vs. a solid hub because there would be less damage if I hit something.
It's a turbo prop and I thought it had a rubber hub in it.

All due respect to you, I don't see your service man as "any too sharp"...a Turbo does not have a solid hub, it has the press-in rubber.

A press in rubber will spin if you suck up a rope like me. it's easyer for prop to be fixed then a lower unit or out drive, cost less to, just a thought.
