I own a 1987 Sea Ray 190 BR the bottom of the boat has spots that look loke blisters and cracked, the question I have is should I worry about this? should I sand and paint? what whould I do. I plan on leaving the boat in the water and bringing it home about once a month for cleaning and maint.

Re: HUll Help

If you have blisters on your hull, you must get repairs in order to leave it in the water, to prevent futher damage. The repair is simple and will extend the life of your craft. I would also repaint the bottom after repair. This would not only be good for the boat, but also good for the pocketbook in the future. This a minimal amount of money spent now, compared to losing the boat to fiberglass rot and separation. Good luck:cool:

Gelcoat is not impervious to water so you have to put a barrier coat on it prior to bottom painting it.
