How do I get to the inside of the hull on a boat like this? ? http://www.lot-o-nothin.com/lotonothin/boat.cfm

The only opening is about 16 inches wide and 10 inches long in the back against the transom.

It's very solid, and I can't see through it, but there is a rust spot about 1/8th of an inch wide that I wanted to check out.

You might have to cut an access hole. A hole saw would be best. They have a pilot bit in the middle to keep things centered until the saw cuts a good slot. About 1/2" into the cut, stop and remove the center bit, then finish. Otherwise the bit might give you a new hole to worry about. Make sure you are only exposing an hollow area, so you might have to drill it a bit off to the side. You don't want to drill into the longitudinal support (stringer). Finish the exposed edge with ... whatever ... to keep rot at bay and cover with a plastic cover you can get or order from just about anybody that sells boat stuff.
