I have a 25 ft Dusky with a transom setback bracket. The boat has always required 15% or so of tab to stop porposing. The hull shape carries a deep V al the way aft. I have heard that a wedge glassed in at the transom bottom hull on the starboard and port edges at the chine would give the boat a modified V and require less tab to keep the bow down in a head sea. The procedure i was told was to mold waterproof bondo at the transom bottom 2 ft toward the bow, 1.5 inches thick and 15 inches wide. Test the boat with no tabs in a following sea to evaluate the hull for wave stuffing. Shave down the wedge until you like it and then glass it over. My goal is to reduce the tab down "Drag" required to stop the porpose motion in a calm sea. A boat should not need to be trimmed in or tabbed down to run firm and level. Anybody done this or a simular procedure???? I have tried CG loading forward and shifting fuel loads. I am convinced this is a "Hydrodynamic problem". THOUGHTS? SUGGESTIONS
