Hi got a Wide 128. The transducer connector that plugs into the push in/pull off cradle is now just a frayed wire with a couple of dangling connections.
can't find the plug that broke off. Is there any way to rig this to work, or am I stuck $50 for a new transducer??????????
thanks
H90

I have read on this forum where folks have repaired their transducer wire, but I don't have a link to it right now. Try doing a search in the red box above for "tranducer wire repair" and you may find it. Personally, I would replace it if I had an expensive unit. But for the cost of a comparable unit like you have, I would just replace the whole thing with a similar model, for about $100.00 dollars or so before I'd spend the money on a new cable.

You can certainly repair the wire. It is just a coax cable. But, if you can't find the plug..then even repaired or new cable won't do you any good. I'd scrounge around at some boat places and see if you can find a replacement/used/busted-up old unit with the plug still intact. Then, just solder the cable's center wire together, and twist and solder the coax shield together. Tape the whole mess up and you should be fine. RichG

Last year i tore my wire from my transducer on some rocks. When i repaired it i slipped some copper tubing over it,then soldered the wires. Then i used aluminum tape over each wire i soldered, slipped the tubing over the wires. Then i used silicone sealant over the ends of the tube. The transducer works perfectly!By the way,the transducer is mounted on my trolling motor. The tubing is clamped to my trolling motor
Shaft, now is is pretty much cut proof.
