Does anyone else have one of these, or one similar? I have one mounted in on the dash of my center console and I'd like to turn it 180 degrees when I'm fishing from the bow using the trolling motor. I'm told the base should swivel, but it seems tight and I don't want to break it by forcing it. Anyone know about these??

Thanks in advance for the help.

I have a 757 also. The boat is covered up but if i remember correct there was a knob or screw you can back off a little and rotate the mount. If it wasn't such a pain and raining today i would go uncover it and look.I'm sure it will rotate though.
Does your transducer throw a rooster tail up behind the boat? I'm trying to think of a way to modify mine to solve that problem..

Now that i think about it mine rotates but it takes a little force to get it to click in the next position..

Re: Hummingbird 757c. Swiveling the base

In fact, my transducer does throw off a bit of a rooster tail. However I raised it slightly, which eliminated the rooster tail but it then "cavitated" causing me to lose the depth signal, so I lowered it back down. I asked around at a marina and the fellow who works there told me the rooster tail was nothing to be concerned about so I just let it be since I'm getting good depth readings.

My boat is currently at being serviced. Having the carbs rebuilt. When I get it back I'll try turning it on the mount. I don't recall anything in the manual suggesting how to do that, but I my revisit the manual just in case. Thanks for the input.

I have one on my bow, it is also tough to turn at first, but does loosen up a bit as you use it.

Well I came up with good new and bad news. The good news is the base does swivel. But the bad news is that, due to how close my unit is to the windsheild, I can't spin it properly. Looks like I'm going to add another depth finder in the bow. Thanks for input.

The rooster tail is a known problem. It is solved by building a small plate or box over the transducer. At least that way the spray does not end up in your face.

That one of my projects to do before launching this spring. That rooster tail drives me nuts and sprays the motor and into the splashwell...
I was thinking of a small piece of something like star board glued to the bracket with 5200...

The rooster tail is caused by water shooting up through the gap between the transducer and the mount. Seal off this area with tape and it should stop.

Thanks Rick! My transducer is huge.I'll give the tape a try and test before i go putting sealer on anything.
