Hello,

I have a Hurricane 211 with a Yamaha F225. I would like to try to improve all around performance and top speed. The F225 has a stock Yamaha 13-3/4 x 19 propeller. This is the black painted Stainless steel prop.

Not sure of my top speed but would estimate in the low 40 mph. However, engine RPM's even with a heavy load are at 6000 to 6100 RPM at WOT. I'm not sure if the rev limiter is maxing out, since 6100 RPM is over the operating range.

I expect I can increase pitch, possibly two inches and keep WOT RPM above 5600-58000 RPM. I'm considering putting a Reliance Series Stainless Yamaha prop at 13-3/4 x 21. But I am also wondering what how a Yamaha Performance series prop with a larger diameter might perform. Specifically a 14-1/4 x 20 prop. Those familiar with this 20'-10" boat know it's not exactly a light boat.

My questions are...what do you think?

And if anyone else has a 211, or an F225 on a similiar weight/size Hurricane, how is your boat propped?

I can't find much detail on this boat with the F225. Seems most configuration have the F150.

Any feedback appreciated.
