Hi Guys,

My old hydraulic pump let the engine drop and since my new 125hp had a better looking pump i thought i'd give it a try.

the pump lifts the engine half way then stalls, the electric motor slows down like its under extreme load, if i lift the engine to take the weight off the pump it makes it all the way up but can't do it under its own power..

Is it stuffed?

I've also noticed it doesnt go all the way down although the pump does not slow down it just doesnt move any more.

If you run the motor all the way down and let it continue running, you will aerate the oil. Then, until the air is allowed to dissipate, the pump will not run correctly. Let it sit a day or so, make sure the reservoir is full, then cycle the tilt several times to bleed out air. See if that helps.

Also if the brushes are old/weak/shorted out.
Sounds like it's binding?
Maybe a bad brush in the pump?
Pull the top and check for rust/corrosion?

Just an update: i changed some parts over and managed to get the motor to lift all the way to the top, it still had some hesitation but it made it up on its own.

I've run it down and im letting it sit for a few days and we'll see how it operates.

Bushing is good,i checked it already
