Hydraulic line leaking

I have a 1984 Mercury 60 hp motor on an AstroGlass boat. it has power tilt/trim. One of the lines seems to have a hole or tear in it. When I lift the engine up and there is full pressure in the line, it starts leaking and it looks like the leak is behind the heavy duty spring used to protect the tubing. How hard is it to replace this tubing and fitting? Any ideas where to find the parts?

Thanks

Re: Hydraulic line leaking

Those are small hydraulic lines. They have a screw fitting at each end. One end screws into the pump, the other end into the trim cylinder. Careful unscrewing the fitting from the cylinders. They are aluminum and can strip easily.

You can occasionally find them for sale on ebay. Sierra Marine also has them available new. They are about $50-$60 each.

Yes Sierra has them. Installed Last year on a 86 60 hp mariner. 240 bucks. As posted be very carefull screwing into the pump and pistons. Start them by hand then tighten. The last thing you want to DO is CROSS THREAD THEM.
You may need two people if you are comming thru the spash/ transom, pan on the boat. the are like fighting a snake.
good Luck
