Hydraulic Pump Hose Inlet Stripped

I really messed this one up, I stipped one of the hose threads on body of my Volvo Hydraulic Trim Pump, Volvo part #852928, for a SP-A outdrive. My question is what is going to be the cheapest fix for this, since I cannot find a new valve body portion of the pump? Can I take it to a shop and have a heli-coil put in, or will that not work? Does anyone know if you can just buy the valve body portion alone or do I have to buy the whole unit? Are there any cheaper replacement units than the Volvo one? Thank you!

I am not sure about the helicoil either, although I would suspect so,they seem to be available for just about anything.

You might check with local boat shops (and they dont have to be brand dealers) someone may have a pump that has a bad motor or the like you could rob the valve body out of.

I am not familier with your pump in particular, but I repaired a merc pump by drilling and taping a pipe thread installed an adapter (pipe to hose) used JB weld to install it. It was still working when the POS boat it was in went to the bottom 30 months later.
Don't get me wrong, this was shade tree 101 on a $300 boat, and was only supposed to last Memorial day weekend.
If you have to buy a whole pump, you may want to try this first.
