I have a 1986 cajun bass boat, with 85hp johnson seahorse v4.. I don't know much about boats being this is my first. Under the steering wheel the hydraulic piston broke trying to turn the motor and the end broke where the piston comes in and out . Is there any way to only replace the hydro cylinder? The whole kit seems kind of high dollar and what kind of system came with these boats? Thanks for the help!

Re: hydraulic steering damage

First step is to figure out what brand your steering kit is...if you can't find a tag, then a picture would get us in the right direction.

I was just at the Teleflex site for another post, and I saw where they had replacement cylinders available for their product. I am sure that will be true for any of the brands.

Happy boating!
