I have a 2005 Everglades 200cc (flats) w/ Yam (2005) 115 four stroke. The steering wheel is getting a little tougher to turn. First thing I guess I'll check is the hydraulic steering fluid. Question is---where would I find it??? ALSO, HOW MANY HOURS DO YOU THINK THIS MOTOR SHOULD RUN FROM FULL HYDRAULIC STEERING FLUID TO NEEDING A REFILL?

I'm sure it's in a different place on most boats. I looked in the battery compartment--wasn't there (the gas separator and hydraulics for the jackplate were). Didn't see it in the bilge area, nor in the center console compartment.

Any other ideas? I'd imagine that it's accessible from somewhere, just don't know where else to look? Is it possibly under the engine cowling?

Learning something new every day!

Re: Hydraulic steering fluid low??

I have the same boat but its a 23' 2004 model. My boat has the Ultraflex hydraulic steering which apparantly does not require refill (you can see the bleeder next to the steering wheel). Last week at my mechanics suggestion, I sprayed some silicone under the steering cap and on the cylinder at the transom. It seems to have done the trick. Let me know if it works for you.

On another note, I have had this boat for about one year and have had a difficult time finding a spot for the transducer where it can read on plane. Do have any experience with this issue?
