Had a badly leaking Cylinder hose. Previous owner wrapped it with Ducting tape (not Duct tape) and 4 small clamps tightened all around the leak. It worked pretty nicely except the fact that water could get in and destroy my pump, so I decided to fix it NOW.
I had to remove the stern to get it off. A new one is being made as we speak.
Keep in mind the hose ONLY leaked at the rupture, NOT AT THE CONNECTIONS.
When I unscrewed it from the cylinder, as well as the junction block, NO O-ring was on either side. When I took it to a local Hose and Hydraulic shop, the guy said most likely it was supposed to have one on each end. He had never seen one used without a O-ring, but then again he wasn't sure.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
Only answer this if you are 100% confident, I don't want to have to remove the stern again just to remove (or add) a couple O-rings!
I attached a picture to represent what I'm talking about... It would have been much easier to just post a picture, but the line is in the shop, so oh well, ART TIME!
What do you guys think?
Thanks
