Re: Hydraulics

Should be able to just change the shocks, measure them and go to any auto parts store they should be able to get them.

Re: Hydraulics

The short answer is yes (it can be fixed by replacing it). It's called a "lift support" (at least that's what they call it at AutoZone and O'Reilly's - http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/s...niversal/N0876/C0326.oap?keyword=support+lift).

I was in my local boat shop the other day and saw a guy ordering one, so that's another option.

Hopefully the ends are somewhat universal, as I suspect it's the way it attaches that needs to match. Other than that you just need to know it's length (open and closed, though I'm sure open/extended relates to closed length) and number of pounds that need to be supported.

Or, maybe your defective one has a model number stamped on it and that can be found on line?

No, they can't be fixed. Measure the length and then visit your local auto parts store. RV and boat dealers also sell them, but their prices will be higher.

Re: Hydraulics

2 lengths need to be measured. Full length and throw (length of rod extracting from closed to open)

Very cool. I need to replace the two under the hood of my Ford Explorer. so I've been looking (hence the knowledge). The broomstick I'm using just ain't cutting it.
