Hydro electric shift answers here oh happy day

Dear all my great friends at I boats an thank you I boats for all the great parts first of all Im posting this to help anyone with the hydro electric shift problems first of all my first mistake was opening the solenoid cap when I panicked taking off the foot to replace the impeller,second I lost the wave washer on top of the solenoid I never saw it it wasn't until I read other posts telling that without the wave washer the motor will start in default forward that was my problem only that wasn't my only problem when I took it apart I didn't notice on the end of the solenoid rod there was a white plastic piece I wasn't sure how it was pushing down to change the valves after putting it together 8 times an it not working I drained the oil in the foot an there it was the culprit there is a little metal piece laying on its side in the bottom of the hole I got my magnet an got it out an snapped it into the white plastic piece put it back in along with the wave washer an ta da it worked I'm soooo happy thank you to mr reeves an everyone else who read my posts an offered help to gather we all can help each other I hope this post helps other as the other posts have helped me oh yea an pray alot an give God all the glory thanks to everyone
