Why do you want to use one?

I am sure you can do it, just make sure it fits the engine you are putting it on but noone can tell you what it will do on the boat, you will have to put it on a run it to see that.

Of coarse, as everyone else will point out, tabs are a better choice but I have run a foil for many years without incident.

While I prefer tabs the foil can work well at a lot less money and skill to install.
However many folks turn to a foil as a bandaid to solve problems from a poor setup.
Also If your motor seup isn't right it can cause poor handling and a loss of speed.

Regardless what your reason is, or whether something else would be better, the answer to your question would best be provided by the manufacturer. Some hydrofoil manufacturer's make a one-size-fits-all product. In the case of Stingray, they make different sizes for different size engines.

A call to their TS Department at their 800 number would be the best approach.
